Who is responsible
Ashley Project Consultancy Ltd is responsible for information you provide when making an enquiry. Contact chris@ashleyprojectconsultancy.co.uk with privacy questions.
Information and purpose
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, optional company name, area of interest and message. We use that information to respond, discuss your requirements and prepare requested proposals. Please do not submit confidential technical files or sensitive personal information.
Basis for handling enquiries
Business enquiries are handled for our legitimate interest in communicating with prospective customers and running our engineering consultancy. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, processing may also be necessary for those steps. You are not required to enquire; without a reply address we may be unable to respond.
Optional email updates
If you tick the separate updates checkbox, we use your name and email to send occasional APC news, developments and services on the basis of your consent. The option is not required to make an enquiry. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing Chris or using the unsubscribe instructions in an update. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We retain the consent record and a suppression record where needed to honour your preferences.
Service providers and security
Website hosting and business email providers process technical and enquiry information to provide their services. The form is designed to use encrypted transport, server-side validation and anti-abuse controls. Our website is hosted by GoDaddy in its Europe data centre. Enquiries are delivered to our Microsoft 365 business email, supplied through GoDaddy. These providers process information to operate, secure and support their services. Their global operations may involve processing outside the UK. Applicable provider data-processing terms describe the transfer safeguards, which may include adequacy decisions and approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for further information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
To limit spam, the form records submission times and a pseudonymous identifier derived from your IP address. It uses these to apply a rolling one-hour sending limit. Expired entries are removed when a subsequent valid submission updates the record. Hosting providers may separately keep access and security logs, including IP addresses, request times and browser information. We use security information for our legitimate interest in protecting this website and preventing abuse.
Retention
Enquiry correspondence is retained while needed to answer your request, manage a resulting project or meet applicable record-keeping obligations. The need to retain closed enquiries is reviewed against the purpose, relationship and any legal requirement. The website form is designed to avoid a separate stored copy of enquiry messages; email handling follows the business retention arrangements.
Your rights
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, and may have rights to erasure, restriction and data portability depending on the circumstances. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact Chris using the address above. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not include advertising pixels, behavioural analytics or embedded social feeds. The enquiry form uses an essential session cookie named APCENQUIRY to protect submissions against forged requests. It contains a random session identifier, rather than your enquiry text, and is set for the browser session. Browser session-restoration settings can extend its life. Blocking this cookie may prevent the form from working; you can email us instead. Fonts and images are served with the site. Hosting services may process connection and security information needed to provide and protect the service. Any later introduction of analytics or marketing technology requires this notice and the consent arrangements to be reviewed.
Automated decisions
The website enquiry process does not make automated decisions about individuals or profile them for marketing.
